Could one of these be the next hot holiday toy?

Parents who have had to scramble tracking down a must-have holiday toy (the great Tickle Me Elmo hunt of ’96, perhaps?) know it pays to start early.

So do the toy-makers. At the Toy Industry Association’s annual Toy Fair in New York City in mid February, plenty of companies put forth contenders they say could fly off shelves this year. Some of my favorites: the GoldiBlox engineering kits for girls, and Ludos, an educational game that teaches kids basic coding.
